Erdogan Reaffirms Support for UAE, Urges Diplomacy in US-Iran Tensions

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reiterated Türkiye’s support for the United Arab Emirates’ sovereignty and security during a phone conversation with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, according to reports.

The call took place against the backdrop of rising regional tensions linked to the ongoing US-Iran dispute. During the discussion, Erdogan also expressed wishes for a speedy recovery from the impact of regional instability and reviewed broader bilateral and international developments, as stated by Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.

Erdogan reportedly emphasized that Ankara places strong importance on deepening cooperation with the UAE across several sectors, particularly trade, energy, and security-related fields.

Addressing the wider regional situation, he described the current developments as concerning and said Türkiye is maintaining diplomatic engagement with relevant parties in an effort to encourage a negotiated resolution between Washington and Tehran.

He also stressed the need for increased dialogue and coordination among regional actors to manage growing security challenges and reduce tensions, according to official statements.
